Texas Stifles Texas A&M, Meets Georgia For SEC Championship

The Longhorns’ defense proved to be an impenetrable force, limiting the Aggies’ high-powered offense to just 267 yards of total offense. Linebacker DeMarvion Overshown led the charge with 12 tackles, including two sacks, while cornerback Ryan Watts sealed the victory with an interception late in the fourth quarter.

On the offensive side, running back Bijan Robinson once again showcased his exceptional abilities, rushing for 132 yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries. His performance helped balance the Longhorns’ attack and keep the Aggies’ defense on their heels.

The victory was a particularly emotional one for the Longhorns, who had not defeated their rivals since 2019. Head coach Steve Sarkisian praised his team’s resilience and determination. “This team showed what they’re made of tonight,” he said. “They played with heart and refused to lose.”

With the victory, Texas advances to the SEC Championship Game, where they will face top-ranked Georgia Bulldogs on December 3rd. The Bulldogs, led by quarterback Stetson Bennett and running back Kendall Milton, have been a dominant force all season, but the Longhorns are hopeful they can pull off another upset.

“We’re not afraid of Georgia,” said quarterback Quinn Ewers. “We know they’re a great team, but we believe in ourselves. We’re going to give it everything we have.”
