Billy Ray Cyrus’s Son Pleads with Him to Accept Help, Citing Erratic Performance
Billy Ray Cyrus’s son, Trace Cyrus, has taken to social media to express his concern about his father’s well-being, just days after the country music star’s disastrous performance at the second inauguration of President Donald Trump.
Trace Cyrus, who was adopted by Billy Ray Cyrus in 1993, wrote an emotional letter to his father, pleading with him to seek help.
Trace Cyrus’s Open Letter to His Father
In the letter, Trace Cyrus expressed his love and admiration for his father, but also his concern about his recent behavior.
He wrote, “Since my earliest memories all I can remember is being obsessed with you and thinking you were the coolest person ever. I wanted to be just like you. The day you adopted me was the happiest day of my life.”
However, Trace Cyrus went on to say that he no longer recognizes the man his father has become.
He wrote, “Sadly the man that I wanted so desperately to be just like I barely recognize now. It seems this world has beaten you down and it’s become obvious to everyone but you.”
Trace Cyrus also expressed his concern that his father may be struggling with addiction.
He wrote, “I don’t know what you’re struggling with exactly but I think I have a pretty good idea & I’d love to help you if you would open up and receive the help. You know how to reach me. Till that day comes I will continue to pray for you.”
Billy Ray Cyrus’s Erratic Performance
Trace Cyrus’s letter comes after his father’s widely criticized performance at the Liberty Ball, which followed Trump’s inauguration.
Cyrus’s performance was marred by technical difficulties and bizarre behavior. At one point, he stopped singing and asked the audience, “Check? Is anybody awake?”
He also wandered aimlessly around the stage and addressed the audience in a monotone voice.
Cyrus’s performance led to speculation that he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. However, Cyrus has denied these allegations.
In a statement to People magazine, Cyrus said, “I wouldn’t have missed the honor of playing this event whether my microphone, guitar and monitors worked or not. I was there because President Donald J. Trump invited me.”
He added, “I had a ball at the Liberty Ball last night and I’ve learned through all these years when the producer says, ‘You’re on,’ you go entertain the folks even if the equipment goes to hell. I was there for the people and we had a blast. That’s called rock n roll!!!”
Billy Ray Cyrus’s Personal Struggles
Billy Ray Cyrus has had a tumultuous personal life in recent years.
He divorced his wife of 28 years, Tish Cyrus, in 2022. He then married Australian singer Firerose, but the marriage ended in divorce less than a year later.
Cyrus has also been accused of emotional abuse and subtsance abuse by his ex-wife, Firerose.
It is unclear what the future holds for Billy Ray Cyrus. However, it is clear that his son, Trace Cyrus, is deeply concerned about his well-being.
