Tommy DeVito Named Giants Starting Quarterback, Daniel Jones Benched

DeVito, a fourth-round draft pick in 2020, has been thrust into the starting role after Jones’s recent poor performances. The Giants’ offense has averaged just 15.4 points per game over the past four weeks, with Jones throwing for a mere 1,059 yards and five touchdowns against four interceptions.

The Giants’ offense has struggled mightily throughout the season. They rank near the bottom of the NFL in passing yards, rushing yards, and points scored. Jones’s inaccuracy, poor decision-making, and lack of mobility have been major factors in the team’s struggles.

Despite his limited experience, DeVito is confident in his ability to lead the Giants’ offense. “I’ve been waiting for this opportunity all my life,” he said. “I’m ready to prove myself and help this team win.”

Jones’s benching is a significant setback for the 24-year-old quarterback, who had been considered the Giants’ franchise quarterback since being selected sixth overall in 2019. However, head coach Joe Judge believes that a change at quarterback is necessary to jump-start the offense.

The Giants will face a tough test in their next game against the Bears, who have one of the NFL’s stingiest defenses. DeVito will need to play well if the Giants want to avoid falling to 0-5.
